DIHP horseshow update from the desert! So, first off, everybody here in the Coachella Valley always referred to the Desert International Horse Park (DIHP) as simply the HITS horseshow. I guess it still is referred to as that, but the main thing is the the horseshow in Thermal, California is readying for the 2024 season. The Horseshow has continued to grow in size and valley power, bringing hundreds of horses, their owners and trainers, grooms, families and of course the thousands of visitors that will head over to watch the competitions throughout the show jumping season. The sport of show jumping is part of why DIHP has a place on the worldwide stage. What an international sport! Many different levels of competition are offered, including consistent options available all season to move your horse or yourself up to higher levels. There will be world class course designers to design throughout the arenas in the park.
The FEI show jumping program continues at a variety of levels with up to 1 million Grand Prix awards. On the National show jumping program front, there is speed action, open classic and National Grand Prix with fabulous prizes! For the youngsters, there is a weekly $7500 DIHP 10 & under Futurity showcases horses still slightly green at the higher levels. The Horsey season is about to begin here in the Coachella Valley. Both of the International Polo Clubs, Eldorado and Empire, are healing from the Desert Trip concert. What a way to make Grass NOT grow..the tromping of thousands and thousands of feet! But..Empire has dumped tons of sand on their fields to prepare them for the 2017 season, and Eldorado is watering heavily to encourage the grass to take root and flourish! What about the HITS Thermal horseshow grounds and schedule for 2017? This is going to be a storming season for Land and Equestrian Property sales. To call myself a Short Sale Specialist, I had to get the required certifications, attend classes, but most of all…I had to List, negotiate and CLOSE dozens and dozens of Short Sales. I did. Polo and HITS update. Summer is winding down, the weather is cooling, and the polo fields are under attack!! Desert Trip is about here, and the two polo clubs, Empire and Eldorado, are both construction sites! Trucks, fences, tents, workers…everywhere. The Empire Polo club will begin it’s 2017 season officially on January 1, with polo tournaments every weekend after that. The Eldorado Polo Club, which is right next door, also begins it’s season in January. While both Polo clubs are rocking and rolling with Polo games, the nearby HITS Horseshow grounds in Thermal, are preparing their grounds for the influx of horses and trainers.
