During December, there will be a free guided hike from the National Monument Visitor Center every Thursday and Saturday from 9 – 11:30 am. An interpretive guide will lead hikers through the Dead Indian Canyon and Carrizo Canyon, in hope of sighting endangered Peninsular Bighorn sheep. Both hikes are considered easy to moderate; Carrizo Canyon is three miles long and Dead Indian Canyon is 2.5 miles.
