Rancho Mirage proudly calls itself home to the Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa, offering a variety of entertainment venues such as gaming, fine dining, luxury spa facilities and The Show – a premier concert venue with shows by world class entertainers. The Children’s Discovery Museum, located in the heart of Rancho Mirage, is an amazing facility dedicated to promoting children’s self expression and intellectual curiosity through interactive exhibits and programs. For golf lovers, the Kraft Nabisco Championship has been held in Rancho Mirage every year since 1972 at Missions Hills Country Club. It was founded by Dinah Shore and is one of four major Women’s golf championships on the LPGA Tour.
Rancho Mirage has long been known for the rich and famous who have played here, lived here, and given back to the community here. Just driving around town, you will see streets named after Bob Hope, Dinah Shore, Frank Sinatra and others easily recognizable. Former President Gerald Ford made his home in Rancho Mirage for many years after his presidency, and his wife Betty, is well known for starting the Betty Ford Center on the campus of the Eisenhower Medical Center. Eisenhower is one of the top medical facilities in the country.
Rancho Mirage’s public schools are in one of California’s finest school districts, Palm Springs Unified. Marywood-Palm Valley School is a private College Prep non-denominational school located in Rancho Mirage and has been in the Valley since 1952. The College of the Desert and the combined campuses of California State University-San Bernadino and University of California-Riverside are all nearby, making quality higher education opportunities readily available.
