The events taking place in Coachella Valley the next few days are exemplary of the wide range of activities that owners of Palm Desert real estate or homes in Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage and other desert cities have to look forward to on a regular basis. People of all ages are certain to find something they’ll enjoy.
On Thursday, February 7 at 5 pm, a monthly favorite among owners of Palm Desert real estate takes place: the El Paseo Art Walk. It’s an opportunity to stroll among the vibrant galleries and discover great finds at the chic boutiques. Also this Thursday is the 2103 Palm Desert Senior Games and International Sports Festival, an exciting event for both participants and those watching—more about that event tomorrow.
Few other cultural events rival the fun, sounds and tastes of a Greek festival—lucky for residents and owners of Palm Desert real estate, the St. George Palm Desert Greek Fest is this weekend! Try authentic Greek food such as gyros and Greek salads, sample Greek wine, beer and coffee, and enjoy live Greek music and dancing at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, located at 74-109 Larrea Street at Lantana Street, Palm Desert. For more information, call 760.832.2824.
On Saturday, February 9, Johnny Mathis will perform at the Agua Caliente Casino. One of the last and most popular traditional male vocalists, Mathis has been inducted twice into the Grammy Hall of Fame and has a series of best-selling albums. What a great opportunity to hear his music up close and personal! The show starts at 8 pm.
To round things out, we’ve got the Tour de Palm Springs on Saturday, and the Palm Springs Half Marathon on Sunday, February 10. Whether you participate or enjoy it as a spectator (if you’re lucky enough to own homes in Palm Springs), this mostly flat course winds through some of the most beautiful and famous neighborhoods this city boasts.
