On Saturday, the University of California, Riverside Palm Desert will host the 36th annual performance of The Sandblaster Chorus presents: “The Good Ol’ Days.” The show features the Sandblaster Chorus with guest quartet “The Newfangled Four,” the 2013 International Collegiate Barbershop Quartet Champions and the 2013 Far Western District champions. Performances take place at 2:30 and 7 pm.

Later on in the day, from 5:15 to 7 pm, The Gardens on El Paseo will feature Concerts in the Gardens: Nivo Deux – Smooth Jazz/80’s Pop. From 6 to 9 pm, the National Monument Visitor Center will host Saturday Star Parties, a unique stargazing event presented by The Astronomical Society of the Desert that includes “sky tours” and direct observations of the night sky through telescopes and giant binoculars. On Sunday, March 9 from 7 to 9 pm, the McCallum Theatre will be the site for a performance by The Flying Karamazov Brothers, which was hailed “”The Marx Brothers meets the Julliard String Quartet,” by The Boston Globe. The show is comprises of a showcase of four self-proclaimed eccentric lunatics sharing filled wild theatrics, hilarious comedy and astonishing juggling feats.
