This weekend kicks off the active recreational season in the Coachella Valley, which is one of the many reasons buyers are so interested in Palm Springs homes for sale. The weekend is extra busy due to the Columbus Day holiday, so get ready for some fun for all ages.
On Saturday, October 12 the 7th Annual Paint El Paseo Pink Walk will take place at the Gardens on El Paseo. This fundraiser is the perfect way to make a contribution during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Show your support by coming out to walk, run or hike for the Desert Cancer Foundation and the Suzanne Jackson Breast Cancer Program, which have funded early detection services for more than 6,000 Coachella Valley residents. Registration starts at 8:30 am, with the Opening Ceremony commencing at 9:30 am.
Also on Saturday, the 4th Annual Veterans Expo, will be happening at the National Date Festival Fairgrounds. This unique expo features entertainment including music and a Patriotic Stage Tribute, displays, a mobile health center, refreshments, and booths for Military Assistance. The event takes place from 9 am to 1:30 pm.
On Saturday there will be a guided public art tour of the sculptures at the Palm Desert Civic Center. A trained docent will lead visitors through the magnificent Palm Desert public art collection, a favorite of all who own real estate in Palm Desert. The tour takes place from 10 to 11 am.
On Saturday night, nine-time Grammy award-winning singer Sheryl Crow will perform at the Fantasy Springs Casino from 8 to 10 pm. This is an honor for residents of the Coachella Valley, and something exciting to do for those in town to look at Palm Springs homes for sale. Also on Saturday night, Latin Grammy Award-nominated Mexican musician Espinoza Paz will perform at the Spotlight 29 Casino from 8 to 10 pm.
On Sunday, October 13, the Second Annual Family Fun Day takes place at the McCallum Theatre from noon to 5 pm. The festival will be filled with family-friendly games, activities and refreshments, with a performance at 3 pm by Popovich Comedy Pet Theater, featuring the unique comedy and juggling skills of Gregory Popovich and his talented performing pets.
Also on Sunday, the Sundays in Summer Cabaret Series 2013 continues with “Give My Regards To Broadway” starring Dean Regan with Nick Fryman as Musical Director.
