School may be back in session but that doesn’t mean that summer is over—and there are lot of fun things to do in Palm Springs this weekend to prove it. Friday, September 5 from 7 to 9 pm, the Joslyn Senior Center will feature a theatrical production of Seminar, an innovative Broadway comedy about sex, art and power. Additional showings take place on Saturday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Also starting on Friday from 8 to 10 pm is Boys in a Bed on a Cold Winter’s Night at the Desert Rose Playhouse. This unique production tells the story of two thirty-something gay men who meet in Greenwich Village in 1987. There will also be performances on Saturday from 8 to 10 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 pm.
On Saturday, September 6 from 9 to 10 am, art lovers can take advantage of the Free Guided Public Art Tour at the Palm Desert Public Library. It’s an excellent opportunity for everyone from locals and visitors to those viewing local homes for the international real estate market to learn about all the vibrant art located at and surrounding the Palm Desert Library.
Saturday from 8 to 10 pm, the Spotlight 29 Casino will host God Save the Queen in their captivating tribute to the legendary band Queen. Featuring vocalist Pablo Padin, God Save the Queen has thrilled fans with their incredible tribute since 1998 and were even deemed “The greatest tribute ever” by Rolling Stone Magazine.
Also on Saturday from 8 to 10 pm, comedian George Lopez will perform his hilarious routine at the Fantasy Springs Casino.
