About The Deepwell Estates Neighborhood
Deepwell Estates is one of Palm Spring’s older and most prestigious neighborhoods. Deepwell was developed with an eye towards preserving the breathtaking mountain vistas and maintaining a true community feel. Its lush, mature landscaping and narrow streets, give Deepwell a close knit, comfortable feeling with a quiet elegance. Sitting at the lowest elevation in Palm Springs, Deepwell is one of the warmest areas in the valley, and is practically wind-free.
The name Deepwell supposedly comes from the deep well that was drilled there in the 1920’s by scientist Harry Pearson. Hollywood has had its presence here, harkening back to the era when Palm Springs was considered to be “Playground for the Stars.” William Holden, Jerry Lewis, Eva Gabor, Liberace, Audrey Hepburn, and Loretta Young are just a few who had desert getaways in Deepwell. Located just minutes from downtown Palm Springs, Deepwell is convenient to fine dining venues, live entertainment, art galleries and boutique shopping. Interstate 10 and the Palm Springs International Airport are a mere 15 minutes away.
Real Estate Opportunities
Deepwell Estates offers single family homes. There are still many original homes, but there are also many remodeled homes throughout the community. The Deepwell Estates Neighborhood Organization (DENO) exists to protect and preserve the integrity of this historic and beautiful community. It has the oldest and largest neighborhood watch/emergency preparedness program in Palm Springs and sponsors a weekly neighborhood clean-up program.
