Horse Updates for Coachella Valley; Polo, HITS & Real Estate! The winter season is upon us here in the desert cities. Along with our returning “snowbirds”, our winter partyers, and seasonal golfers, come the Eastern Coachella Valley Equestrian Competitors! The reason the “horse set” heads to the East Valley cities of La Quinta, Thermal, Indio, Coachella and VSR?? Horse lovers and owners are drawn to the wide open spaces, Farm Land, Equestrian Ranches, and our Internationally renowned Polo Clubs, and HITS Horseshow. Along with all the people and horses comes an increase in real estate activity. Several thousand people, and hundreds of their stable pals have started rolling into town as competition gets ready to rock and roll for 2016!
Polo & HITS Updates
Eldorado Polo Club: The club is buzzing with horses in stalls and groups of horses being galloped and “legged up” on the track. Tackrooms are being set up with saddles, bridles, blankets, leg wraps, mallets, helmets, knee guards, and stable equipment. The club is going from a summer ghost town to winter wonderland!! The 2016 Game schedule here, says fields open for stick-n-ball practice on Dec. 8. The much anticipated Linfoot Polo Clinic is the weekend of Dec. 7 & 8, and practice games begin the following weekend.
Empire Polo Club: Empire Polo Club has been filled with horses the entire summer! The busiest Polo Club in California! Summer Polo has just ended, and it’s on to the Arena Polo Tournaments. Games will be played tomorrow, November 29, (schedule here). Arena Polo is a great spectator sport, as the grandstands are perched above the Arena venue, so you feel a part of the show. 3 players on a side, in an arena that is only 300 ft. long, so you can really see the action! It’s FREE…come on out!
HITS Horseshow In The Sun: The horses for this winter Horse Show at the Thermal Show grounds, don’t start arriving for another several weeks, but the showgrounds is beginning to show signs of life for 2016. Classes don’t begin until January 19, so add a trip to the showgrounds to your winter schedule. There are hundreds of horses, competitors of all ages, and lots of Vendors! Entrance is only $5..what a deal! There is food, drink, horse memorabilia, tack and barn supplies.
