HITS & Polo Update: Another Season is about to begin in the Coachella Valley Horse world. Polo ponies and their owners will begin arriving in November, and the HITS show competitors will be hauling in their top jumping and show prospects in November, and through December. HITS & Polo Coachella Valley Equestrian Update: The Santa Barbara summer season is wrapping up with it’s 8-goal and club chukkars, and last weekend hosted the West Coast Womens Open with 4 supurb teams and a high level of competition. The Coachella Valley Eldorado Polo Club and also the Empire Polo Club will begin their 2020 seasons in January, and schedules are out now. After speaking with the polo manager, Graham Bray, he tells me the 2020 Eldorado Polo Club season will be busy with 6 teams already entered in the highest level of polo in the desert, the 12 goal. There will also be a 4-goal league, as well as Pro-pool, and it seems there will be a 2-goal league added to the 2020 roster.
Over at the Empire Polo Club, there are always plenty of teams and a ton of activity. Polo Manager, Vicki Owens, ran a very successful summer polo season, and will be headlining the game planning for the 2020 season. Tournament games begin end of November and continue through March. Levels are from 1-goal to 8-goal, and games on Sundays are open to everyone.
