On Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17 from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, the local favorite Idyllwild Jazz Festival will take place Idyllwild Arts Campus. The 21st annual event will feature three stages of jazz, blues and R&B music to raise funds for the Idyllwild Arts Academy. There will be more than two dozen bands playing continuous music throughout the weekend, as well as a festival marketplace with a wide range of art, jewelry and other crafts for sale. On Saturday, at 8 pm, fans of the popular American Idol television show are going to go wild when the Fantasy Springs Casino hosts American Idol Live. This season’s top 10 finalists will perform at this killer event. Also on Saturday, from 8 to 10 pm, internationally renowned Mexican comedian Polo Polo will perform at the Spotlight 29 Casino.
On Sunday, August 17 from 2 to 4 pm, the Arthur Newman Theatre will host Ron Cohn in: “Live & Let Live: A Birthday Show!” featuring music from the iconic Cole Porter. On Sunday from 7 to 9 pm, American trumpeter and composer Chris Botti will perform at the Morongo Casino. Botti won the Grammy Award in the Best Pop Instrumental Album category in 2013.
