Summer polo in the Coachella Valley. We’ve had a very mild May, and it seems June is going to be the same. We are looking at 90’s as a high for the end of May into the first week of June. That makes it easy for us local desert rats to play summer polo! The Eldorado Polo club is still in the process of taking down the music festival installations, including that huge tent that took up the entire Field #4!. Empire Polo Club is no longer a polo facility, but rather an event site, so our local summer polo is currently happening at Rancho Polo Equestrian Center in Thermal. Polo is enjoyed by hundreds of players and their ponies in the Coachella Valley year round, though our true season runs from December through April. Summer polo is played at 8 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The Thermal HITS show grounds hosts fantastic competitions as early as November, and running through April.
