What do you do in the HEAT? Here in the Coachella Valley, the heat is on! 110 today, but the great news is it’s going to start cooling off the next few days, should get down to 101 here any day now. But what do you do in the HEAT? I get asked that by my family members, seasonal friends, clients and my equestrian friends. So, I’ll tell you what I tell them..local resident and agent, Kim Kelly 760-285-3578.
Here’s what I do in the heat. Get up early and head out to ride. Just trail riding, but fun, quiet, and enjoyable. There is an active equestrian community here in the Coachella Valley, even in the summers.
I often run a few hills in the mornings or take a short hike up behind the La Quinta Cove.
Swimming!! Absolutely critical to have access to a pool. I have sold so many homes with pools to clients and so often they don’t use it. I mean at all! But..summer in the Coachella Valley requires a pool. The water DOES get warm, but I only swim when the sun goes down. Swimming or jumping around in the water while I look at the desert sky and the mountains, listen to the birds and just enjoy! The quiet desert evenings are magical.
There isn’t a morning or afternoon that I don’t see bikers, no matter what the temperature is. We go outside alot here in the desert, and yes even in the heat. And of course there is golf. I am not a golfer, but I LOVE summer golf. I go play when it’s really hot, and I have the course to myself. 1 pm in sweltering heat is perfect. I can take my time, miss as many balls as I like, and I never worry about holding anybody up. Summer golf in the Coachella Valley is great even for golf bozos like myself.
I meet my friends at one of the many happy hours in the Coachella Valley heat. Really good rates on really good food and half off most wine on half off wine nights at local venues like the Cliffhouse and Lavender Bistro.
