If you are at retirement age, or gaining on it, and are thinking about a 55+ community, the Coachella Valley offers a variety of options. There is Sun City, Palm Desert in North Palm Desert, which is very popular. It is the largest 55+ community, and has something for everyone. Tons of social events, catch and release fishing, golf of course, multiple clubhouses, all for reasonable HOA dues. Single family homes, on and off the golf course, range from approx. $300,000 to approx. $700,000.
Nearby in Indio, is Sun City Shadow Hills, a newer Sun City option. Homes are newer, development isn’t as large, and prices are approx. the same. Heritage Palms is a terrific option more in the center of Indio, offers on and off golf course living, a great club house, active social schedule, and all the fun extras of a 55+ community.
La Quinta offers Trilogy at La Quinta, a Shea home community with beautiful homes on and off golf course, a modern clubhouse with indoor lap pool, workout, social events, classes, restaurant, and near to Polo & HITS for the equestrians. Prices start at approx. $350,000 and range to approx. $850,000. The new community Trilogy at Polo offers a section of the community for 55+ buyers, and is in West Indio right by the polo fields.
