Since we’re expecting a weekend of phenomenal desert weather this weekend, it’s the perfect time to explore some of the awesome festivals taking place. It’s an ideal opportunity to spend time with the family, explore on a solo mission, or take a break from looking at La Quinta or Indian Wells real estate.
On Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm, The Coachella Valley Wildflower Festival is happening at the National Monument Visitor Center, a local gem that residents and those who own properties in Palm Desert are very proud of. This unique event, which supports the National Monument and Friends of the Desert Mountains, is a great way to spend the day. Join guided hikes and nature walks in search of beautiful desert wildflowers, browse over 40 vendor and exhibitor booths, and attend one of the seven specialty workshops involving wildflower identification and landscaping, photography and more. There will be plenty of kid-friendly activities as well, including face painting and arts & crafts, as well as beer, wine and other refreshments for the adults attending.
The Desert Arts Festival takes place on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3, starting at 10 am on both days. The event is part of a series of fine art festivals that is celebrating its 30th year! The Desert Arts Festival benefits local non-profit organizations and is held at Frances Stevens Park in Palm Springs, 538 N. Palm Canyon Drive at Alejo Road.
Another cool event that will satisfy outdoor lovers, which are many among those who own properties in Palm Desert, is the Hike for Hope in Indian Canyons this Sunday, March 3. In its 15th year of raising funds for women’s cancer research, this fundraiser features a non-competitive hiking event open to all ages and hiking levels. It’s a great way to get some exercise, help a good cause, and take a break from viewing Indian Wells real estate.
