This weekend in Palm Springs features a fun slate of activities to kick off the fall season. This Friday, September 26, a theatrical production of The Who’s Tommy will begin its run at the Palm Canyon Theatre. The iconic Tommy tells the story of a young man who, after witnessing his father commit a murder, goes into a catatonic state until his supernatural pinball skills transform him into an international superstar. The show runs through Saturday, October 12. The Palm Canyon Theatre is located at 538 N Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.
From Friday through Sunday, September 28, the Morongo Casino will host Thunder & Lightning Pow Wow, a unique and vibrant celebration of Native American culture and heritage. There will be a marketplace with Native American vendors, food, music, dance and more. The event takes place from 4 pm to 7 pm each day. The Morongo Casino is located at 49500 Seminole Drive in Cabazon.
On Saturday, September 27, the Joshua Tree National Park Visitors Center will participate in National Public Lands Day, which features free admission to all national parks. The Joshua Tree National Park is an absolute must-see for anyone new to the area or looking at homes for sale in La Quinta, Rancho Mirage or any other part of the Palm Springs Valley.
On Sunday, September 28 from 2 to 4 pm, the Arthur Newman Theatre will feature the most requested songs from Broadway, Opera and the great American songbook in Charles Herrera: By Request. The venue is located at 73-750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert.
