There is so much to do this weekend in Palm Springs! There’s something for everyone, so whether you’re in town for vacation or are viewing Rancho Mirage real estate, you won’t have trouble finding a great event or activity for the whole family to enjoy during your downtime.
On Saturday, January 18, the musical tribute recreation show, Honky Tonkin’, will start its run at the Indio Performing Arts Center. With Cowboy Jack Johnson as “Hank Williams” and Bethany Owen as “Patsy Cline,” you’ll enjoy music from their early years, when they recorded some of the most memorable country music songs. Located at 45175 Fargo Street, the Indio Performing Arts Center is easily accessible to everyone who owns properties in Indian Wells, Palm Desert and all the other cities in Coachella Valley. The show runs through February 9.
On Saturday from 10 to 4 pm, charming Old Town La Quinta will host Art Under the Umbrellas. That evening from 7 to 9 pm, the Pete Carlson’s Jazz for Jazz Lovers: The Richie Cole Quintet Featuring Bruce Forman will be happening at Pete Carlson’s Golf & Tennis. Also from 7 to 9 pm, the College of the Desert will host a performance of the hit comedy series The Improv Games 3, featuring hilarious original material and improvisational comedy. For classics lovers, there will be a performance of The Man Who Came to Dinner at the Annenberg Theater. Any of these provide a great way to unwind after a long work week or a day of searching for that perfect piece of Rancho Mirage real estate.
On Sunday, January 19, there will be a concert, Sunday Sounds: Hotflash, at the Palm Desert Community Center, featuring Country and Bluegrass, with special guest Barnaby Finch on keyboards. The free concert is sponsored by the Riverside County Library and will take place from 2 to 4 pm.
