Rancho Mirage’s Magnesia Falls Cove – A Magical Place

Rancho Mirage is the location for one of those magical neighborhoods in the valley that has everything going for it . . . and that neighborhood is Magnesia Falls Cove.  This eclectic collection of homes with an assortment of architectural styles have Location, Location, Location as their first and foremost attribute, as this neighborhood is situated in the heart of Rancho Mirage within walking distance of The River, Rancho Las Palmas and other nearby shopping centers.

Magnesia Falls Road is Rancho Mirage's Magical NeighborhoodMagnesia Falls Cove is nestled in a beautiful cove, surrounded by spectacular mountain views and popular hiking trails. Located at the top of the cove is Porcupine Ranch, a 240 acre private estate with its very own 18-hole golf course owned by billionaire Larry Ellison.

Also, the Magnesia Falls Cove neighborhood is just minutes away from the Rancho Mirage Library, Eisenhower Medical Center, McCallum Theatre . . . and fabulous El Paseo Shopping District.  It is also perfectly situated just off of the major valley commuter route of Highway 111 and is a 20 minute drive away from The Palm Springs International Airport and the I-10 freeway.  How is that for a convenient lifestyle?

The homes in idyllic Magnesia Falls Cove are varied, with Mid-Century homes built in the 50s and other styles built until present day – ranging from Contemporary to Mediterranean, to Bungalow to Adobe.  Some of the homes sit on oversized lots, some upt to 24,000sf and more.  This serene and mystical cove setting surely gives residents the best of both worlds.  As The Cove is not a gated community, HOAs are practically nonexistent at a whopping $25 per year.

So, whether you’re  an artist looking for serenity and views that inspire . . . or someone looking for one of the most coveted and convenient locations in the whole Coachella Valley, then Magnesia Falls Cove may very well be for you.

Rancho Mirage’s Newest Addition to Restaurant Row – Catalan

Exciting Mediterranean Cuisine comes to Rancho MirageRancho Mirage has a new restaurant on the street – Catalan is a Mediterranean themed restaurant which now calls home to the building where Bangkok Five once was on Highway 111.

Catalan was launched this year by a father and son duo, Mark and Drew Davis.  The owners source their products exclusively from local and sustainable sources whenever they can in a commitment to give their patrons a farm to table dining experience.

Chef Drew Davis had a passion for food even as a child growing up in Los Angeles.  He worked at restaurants as a high school student and out of that experience, realized his life’s calling.  That’s when he decided to take his craft to the next level by working at more prominent establishments and eventually attending the Culinary Institute of America.   Drew has worked under James Beard awarded chefs in Florida and the Midwest.

Most recently, Drew worked as Executive Sous-Chef at prominent East Hampton New York establishment called Nick and Toni’s.  He has also worked as a private chef for some entertainment celebrities, and finally decided to open his own restaurant here in our Palm Springs Valley.

The menu is ripe with pastas, beef, chicken, seafood, lamb, paella and many other sumptuous Mediterranean style items to choose from.  There is a full dessert menu, specialty cocktails and tantalizing wine list.

Catalan is on my list of new restaurants to go to, we welcome diverse dining opportunities here in Rancho Mirage and our desert.  Wishing you lots of luck, Catalan, and can’t wait to sample your cuisine!
