The Hideaway Golf Club, La Quinta is a really social club!
What’s selling at Hideaway and Tradition? It’s been a slow year in real estate sales in the Coachella Valley overall, but there are certainly sales! Be sure if you want to sell this year or in 2025, that you price your property attractively. That doesn’t mean give it away, but be realistic. Listen to your agent, review the comps carefully, don’t be arrogant about your property. Step back from your emotions regarding the property, and stick to the recent sales. Don’t be greedy, be smart! Local resident and agent, Kim Kelly, can give you a realistic property value consultation for free, 760-285-3578.

Trilogy at La Quinta golf course opening in Nov. 2024
Trilogy at La Quinta golf course to open in November: Trilogy at La Quinta is finally going to re open it’s golf course in November of 2024. The course has been closed while it’s being re structured, and after the members decided to buy it themselves, it is now scheduled to open end of this year! If you are looking to buy or sell in the Coachella Valley, give local resident and agent, Kim Kelly a call at 760-285-3578.
The golf course was renamed Coral Mountain Golf Club, which closed in 2022. Earlier this year, the residents of Trilogy at La Quinta voted overwhelmingly to purchase the golf course, clubhouse and restaurant. They’ve reverted the club back to its original name, Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta, and have invested in a multi-million-dollar renovation to modernize the facilities to bring them back to their former glory. The homeowners have even brought back the original management team from BlueStar Resort & Golf to oversee the renovation and manage the club. Work is underway and come November, Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta will reclaim its status as a must-play, daily-fee golf course in California’s Coachella Valley.
In addition to the golf course work, the club also is renovating the clubhouse which includes a full-service golf shop and its signature restaurant. The design and décor will be heavily influenced by the Coachella Valley’s famed mid-century modern aesthetic with thoughtfully planned gathering spaces for friends and families filled with natural light and beauty. The atmosphere will be welcoming and friendly with a relaxed sophistication, and the menu will focus on delivering quality classic fare with inventive touches and craft cocktails and beverages.
The new Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta is expected to open November 2024. To learn more and receive updates from the club, mytrilogylife.com/laquinta/

Coachella Valley area golf course communities
How to choose a golf course home: One of the first things I ask my buyers when we speak, is “golf course home, or non-golf course home?” Once that question is answered, I can narrow down our playing field. If the answer is “golf course home”, then the golf course club has to come into play. There are lots of things to think about when purchasing a home on a golf course, in a golf course community. If you are looking to buy or sell in the Coachella Valley, give local resident/agent, Kim Kelly a call at 760-285-3578.
How to choose a golf course home:
- Private or Public course: Pretty simple here. Private courses have less traffic, meaning players, carts, and human sounds. Public courses are much more casual, heavily trafficked and often not as meticulously maintained.
- Equity or non equity membership: Equity membership typically means members own a piece of the club. Usually more expensive, and more exclusive than non-equity, and offer more amenities. With fewer members/players and higher fees of an equity club comes perks like better maintenance and upkeep, less course wear and tear, no wait tee-times, and higher-quality facilities and food. In the non-equity model, the club and all of the amenities are owned by an entity other than the members. This could be the developer, or an organization that specializes in owning and operating club facilities.
- Club Amenities: What do you like to do..besides golf? Do you like the gym, bocce ball, tennis, pickleball, social events, crafts, fancy dinners, a variety of nearby restaurants, hiking, swimming. Really think on this and be honest about what you would actually participate in, and then consider the HOA costs to be sure it makes sense to you.
- Sun orientation or less: Really important here in the Coachella Valley! Some people want as much sun as possible, some want more mountain views, some want to swim year round and prefer shade over the pool/outdoor spaces.
- On the fairway or off: Expansive views over rolling greens is very enticing. Just be prepared for the maintenance required, and the noise that maintenance entails. Errant golf balls are a real thing, can break windows or chip your house, or klonk you on your head. People enjoying their golf rounds can peer into your backyard, hunt for their balls, laugh when they shouldn’t.
Here in the Coachella Valley, there are golf course communities in every city. This short video is of the La Quinta Golf Club in La Quinta. One of La Quinta’s original courses, and featuring gorgeous fairways, water features, mature trees and landscape, and a very “settled” feel.

Montage Hotel at SilverRock to break ground spring of 2021..hope so!
Montage Hotel at SilverRock, what’s up? Living in La Quinta, I am often asked and I wonder myself..what’s going on with the Montage Hotel development at the SilverRock Golf Course? We keep getting updates that it is going to break ground in the spring of this year. I can say that there is definitely construction going on in Jefferson St. They had that dug up for several months while they were installing underground improvements for the project. The Actual SilverRock Development does have a projected opening of late 2022.
The 134 room hotel is the cornerstone of the $400 million SilverRock Golf Resort development. Plans also include a 200 room Pendry luxury hotel, also under the Montage brand, a spa, shared convention and event center, residential condos and a second golf course. COVID has really hit the hospitality industry as we all know, but it looks like 2021 could be the ground breaker!
The montage Hotel is expected to take about 21 months to complete. Design plans have been submitted and approved for the planned Montage and Pendry residential condominiums and sale are better than expected the developer says. Check out this property for sale on the edge of La Quinta..9 acres at Monroe and Avenue 52 4 homes + barn, 5 hole pitch n putt, private lake, orchard..outstanding!!
