A romantic evening on a Full Moon Trail Ride in Morongo Valley
Equestrian activities in the Palm Springs Valley are plentiful, so if you happen to be a horse person, rest assured there is no lack of exciting things to experience here in the desert. Whether it’s watching world class horse events held in the east valley – Indio, Coachella, Thermal area… or trail riding in the Palm Springs, High Desert area, your options are many.
SADDLE UP FOR A TRAIL RIDE
Trail riding is such a wonderful way to get intimate with the desert landscape. It’s meditative. You’re surrounded by nature as you wind your way on horseback through the ruggedly beautiful canyons of the local mountains with the sun on your back. Palm Springs is fortunate to be home to historic Smoke Tree Stables, tucked away off of the busy thoroughfare of Highway 111. There you will find group packages available for trail riding adventures into nearby Indian Canyons, where the Cahuilla Indians used to roam and native palm oases and streams grace the landscape. Picnic lunches or western cookouts can be included, whatever your fancy.
You can also hightail it up to the High Desert area of Morongo Valley for trail riding… it’s just a short 20 minute drive up Hwy. 62 from Palm Springs. The High Desert offers it’s own brand of magic, as it’s typically at least 10 degrees cooler up there (which is nice in the summer) and the scenic views of snow-capped Mount San Jacinto and Mount San Gorgonio absolutely take your breath away. You’ll think you’re in the Swiss Alps.

Quiet streets in Indio, California
Where are the Prettiest Neighborhoods in Indio, Ca. located? In my opinion, that would be On or right next to Avenue 49. This quiet, two-lane street is the East/West connector between Jefferson St. to the West and Monroe St. to the East. If you are “getting ready” to buy a property in our beautiful desert valley, be sure to watch the short Video below, and don’t overlook this quiet, GORGEOUS, area of our East Valley. There are several gated, non-golf course communities including Desert River Estates, The Orchard, Montage at Santa Rosa and Estacio for Resale homes. There are also two NEW HOME developments on Madison St./49th, which are called Madison Estates and Stonegate. Welcome to the beautiful West Indio area of classy, beautiful homes on 49th!!

When you’re ready to view Indio homes for sale or invest in the international real estate market, there are a few strategies you can employ to make the entire process more productive and efficient. Follow these closely and you’re sure to find your dream house.
1. Do the math. Before you embark on this process, make sure that you’re truly ready to buy and determine a realistic budget. While the housing market is definitely on the upswing, it doesn’t mean you need to make a quick move. Pull your credit report and make sure everything is accurate and repair what you can so you get the best interest rates possible. Break down all of your monthly expenses and bills and create a practical budget that includes contingency plans and emergency funds. If it all still looks good, then you can begin your search with confidence.
2. Build a solid team. Make sure that you find a reliable team to work with, including a short sale realtor or agent, and an experienced attorney to guide you through the extensive and sometimes complicated paperwork. You’ll also need an inspector, appraiser and title company that you can trust. Ask friends and colleagues for referrals, check all references and search for reviews before you select the team. You may even want to look them up on the Better Business Bureau website. If you’re making an international real estate transaction, find an expert who has specific experience navigating them.
3. Keep your options open. Don’t rely solely on agents and brokers to find you the house of your dream. Put the word out that you’re in the market and tap into your social media sites to network. Search for properties and Indio homes for sale online—many real estate professionals have created customized websites with lots of searchable functionality.

Are you ready to sell your Indio real estate? If you’ve been considering putting your home on the market, you should start taking steps to prepare for the big event. Read on for two very important things to consider.
1. Timing. When you list your home can have some effect on your pool of buyers, but ultimately, you should list your home when you feel your property is ready and you’ve retained the services of a well-reputed realtor with local expertise. Some families are on the house hunt during the summer so that they can enroll their children at their new school at the beginning of the academic year. However, many other prospective buyers, such as those without children, singles and retirees, don’t take the school year into consideration. In general, a lot of the activity in the marketplace may depend on supply and demand, as opposed to the time of year. If you have a desire or need to sell, then by all means, find a realtor and start the process.
2. Improving value. Once you’ve made the decision and found a good realtor to list your Indio real estate, you should strive to get your property into the best shape possible. Start de-cluttering as early as possible and assess your home to determine which repairs and improvements need to be made. Cosmetic improvements, such as a fresh coat of paint and landscaping, can help boost curb appeal and ensure that your home shows better. You may want to plant flowers, repair anything that is broken, and ensure that all lighting, both interior and exterior, is working properly. You should also clean out the garage—many families use their garage for storage which ultimately makes the space appear smaller and cluttered, which can be a turn off for prospective buyers. In addition, you should make all minor mechanical repairs that are necessary and ensure that all the appliances are in good working condition.

When you’re viewing Indio homes for sale, be sure to take time out to see one of the most remarkable sights of the Coachella Valley: the Salton Sea. At 227 below sea level, it is one of the lowest spots on the entire planet. Due to its low level, it only receives about three inches of rainfall per year, and therefore has a high concentration of salt, minerals and other nutrients, providing the fish population with abundant food options. This has earned the Salton Sea its reputation as one of the most productive fisheries in the world.
The Salton Sea is one of the world’s largest inland seas and its fastest boating lake. Indio residents and owners of La Quinta real estate have easy access to the area’s many recreational opportunities, including fishing, camping, boating, hiking and bird watching. In addition, there is tons of inspiration for photography and other art forms. Considered one of the world’s largest inland “seas,” the Salton Sea is actually a 376-mile lake. Due to its location deep in a California desert basin, it also known as “the Salton Sink.”
The surrounding recreational area includes 14 miles of the northeastern shore that is a popular destination for owners of La Quinta real estate and other Palm Springs valley residents, as well as visitors and tourists from across the globe. Miles of hiking trails are ideal for beachcombing for shells, petrified palm and garnet. This unique natural attraction is known as one of California’s most amazing natural wonders, due to its incredibly diverse bird population. With more than 400 bird species, the area is unrivaled for bird watching and is home to the annual Salton Sea International Bird Festival.
Whenever you’re spending the day viewing real estate in Palm Springs or viewing Indio homes for sale, take a break to take in this glorious natural wonder that may just become part of your desert playground. image: saltonsea.ca.gov

You’ve finally found that dream piece of real estate in Indio and you can’t wait to move in—but there are still a few loose ends to tie before you leave your current home. Even if your possessions are all on route to their new destination, there are several essential tasks to perform to make the move complete. Read on for a few reminders of things you need to do before landing in your new community. While some of them are basic and seem like no-brainers, they are often overlooked.
1. Change of address forms. The beauty of these is that you can now handle your address changes online if you don’t want to hit the post office and fill out the forms.
2. Magazines. Email all of your magazine subscriptions offices with your new address. The post office typically only forwards periodicals for two months, so you’ll want to do this as soon as possible.
3. Banks. Find out where the closest branch of your bank is and send them your new address as well. If you have a safe deposit box, you may want to remove all the contents and put them in a new one at a branch close to your new real estate in Indio.
4. Medical. Get referrals from your current doctors for your new area.
5. Clean out the kitchen. Hopefully, you will have used up as much as possible before the big move. If not, you may want to consider donating any unopened food in your pantry since these items can be bulky to transport and are often times not worth the effort.
6. Say your goodbyes. Last but not least, you may want to get closure on your home, as you and your family may have many memories there. Have a going away party, visit some of your favorite local spots, take a photo of your old house and take one last walk through before you leave.
