Festivals coming up next weekend in the Coachella Valley.
Festivals coming up next weekend in the Coachella Valley. Indio is formally known as our desert “City of Festivals.”, but our desert should really be called “The Valley of the Festivals.” We all know by now of the magnitude of the Coachella Music Festival, followed by the Stagecoach Festival in April. I suppose the success of these Festivals, along with the original Indio Date Festival, has just naturally dovetailed into Festival this, and Festival that. No matter..this coming weekend, is a weekend of Festivals to kick off our follow up to Halloween, and intro to Thanksgiving Celebrations in the Coachella Valley.…. [Read more…]

Hidden Canyon; La Quinta Neighborhood of the Week
Hidden Canyon; La Quinta Neighborhood of the Week. Hidden Canyon is a small, gated community of newer homes built by Trans West Housing. Because there is no golf course, the HOA dues are very low in this family friendly neighborhood, that is a constant favorite among Locals and Seasonal residents alike. Located in a “Hidden Canyon”, right off of Eisenhower, just North of the La Quinta Hotel & Spa, the mountains are so close you can literally touch them! If you’re looking for a fantastic location, in a non-golf course community in La Quinta, do not forget about this little gem of a neighborhood. If you do like to golf, don’t overlook it as Silver Rock Public course and several other golfing options are nearby. [Read more…]
Polo in the Coachella Valley; What’s the BIG deal?
Polo in the Coachella Valley; What’s the BIG deal? When I came to the desert over 30 years ago, I was a groom, hoping to one day be able to play polo professionally. I was overwhelmed by the scope of the Eldorado Polo Club at that time. It seemed to my eyes, that the fields went on and on, horses were everywhere, and Polo was the Valley’s Sport! What a dummy. In my small world of Polo and horses, EVERYONE knew about the club. In reality, when I meet with clients to show them property 30 years later, it is the rare individual that knows about our amazing East Valley horse Industry, and how it contributes to our Coachella Valley economy. Desert Club Estates in La Quinta, Calif.
Desert Club Estates in La Quinta, Calif. This is a very unique neighborhood. It’s location is brillliant, tucked behind The Citrus Golf Club and across the street from The Tradition Golf Club. Put on your tennis, grab your bike, or jump into your Golf Cart and head to Silver Rock Resort, Arnold Palmers’ Restaurant, Old Town La Quinta, Fritz Burns park for a game of Tennis. Behind the wall on the corner of Washington and 52nd lies this non-gated, non-golf course community with NO monthly HOA’s!
What I love the best about this “hole in the wall” desert community, is the location. You can literally walk across Washington at Tampico, and head to the La Quinta Library, take a Yoga class at the Yoga studio, take a stroll through the park like grounds of the La Quinta Civic Center, hit the new Wellness Center, or head on to Old town La Quinta to shop or grab a meal. Biking is another way to get around. If you want exercise, head across 52nd to the Fritz Burns Park, where there are public Tennis courts, a public Pool, or watch the kids in the Skate Park. Hiking? Just head up Bermudas to the Top of the Cove, where there are several Trail heads, and head out. Golf at the public Silverrock course, or several nearby other public golf courses. [Read more…]
