80875 Via Portofino, La Quinta, CA.
The Hideaway in La Quinta, California is undergoing a new building phase. This Just Listed Estate home site at 80875 Via Portofino is one of the best locations! There is construction all over the Club. A bit of a slow down on the interior streets, but the Hideaway home owners are smiling. Nothing like New Homes to improve everyone’s property values. This home site is one of the few remaining quiet, interior parcels of this magnitude at the club. The Hideway Golf Club is an extremely popular club in the Coachella Valley. It is locally referred to as “the social club” due to all the social activities for members, and their families. Very easy to get to with it’s main entrance off of Jefferson St., which is an artery street directly to the 10 fwy. The Palm Springs airport is approx. 25 minutes away on the 10.

The Citrus Club in La Quinta, Calif.
La Quinta Neighborhood of the Week; The Citrus. The beautiful Citrus Golf Club in central La Quinta remains a favorite for Buyers seeking a gated, La Quinta Golf Course Community. Entry gates are manned, and there are two of them for easy access. One gate is off of 52nd St. right across from the Public Silverrock Golf Course, and the other is off of Jefferson St. HOA’s are low, the clubhouse is friendly and recently remodeled, streets are lined with Citrus trees, and views to the surrounding Mountains are mesmerizing..

Rooms with lake side view in La Quinta
Lake La Quinta in La Quinta, CA. has a Hotel! There are several unique features of Lake La Quinta that are specific to it alone. One is, of course, the Lakeside living, with motorized boats and boat docks available. Very unique here in the Coachella Valley. But it has another exceptional offering..a boutique Hotel. The Chateau at Lake La Quinta. The Chateau has just undergone a multi-million dollar face lift, and looks unbelievable.

Arnold Palmers’ Restaurant is walking distance away…
Desert Club Estates in La Quinta, Calif. This is a very unique neighborhood. It’s location is brillliant, tucked behind The Citrus Golf Club and across the street from The Tradition Golf Club. Put on your tennis, grab your bike, or jump into your Golf Cart and head to Silver Rock Resort, Arnold Palmers’ Restaurant, Old Town La Quinta, Fritz Burns park for a game of Tennis. Behind the wall on the corner of Washington and 52nd lies this non-gated, non-golf course community with NO monthly HOA’s!
What I love the best about this “hole in the wall” desert community, is the location. You can literally walk across Washington at Tampico, and head to the La Quinta Library, take a Yoga class at the Yoga studio, take a stroll through the park like grounds of the La Quinta Civic Center, hit the new Wellness Center, or head on to Old town La Quinta to shop or grab a meal. Biking is another way to get around. If you want exercise, head across 52nd to the Fritz Burns Park, where there are public Tennis courts, a public Pool, or watch the kids in the Skate Park. Hiking? Just head up Bermudas to the Top of the Cove, where there are several Trail heads, and head out. Golf at the public Silverrock course, or several nearby other public golf courses.

La Quinta Cove; known for diversity
La Quinta Cove; A favorite of Locals and Visitors. The “Cove”, as Locals refer to it, has been a favorite of mine since my Polo playing days. When I, and maybe one or two other players needed a seasonal place to stay, we almost always chose the La Quinta Cove. We could find a nice home, in a beautiful area, that was reasonably priced, and just far enough away from the Polo fields to give us a bit of autonomy. It still remains a favorite today. The Cove is an eclectic collection of single family homes, approx. 1200 of them, that hug the base of the mountains in one of the prettiest Coves in the desert.
No HOA’s here, and it’s very obvious! Homes can be any architectural style, and a wide range of Colors. The Cove is also home to approx. 28 “Casitas” that were built in the 1930’s – 40’s, and originally sold as retreats for many of Hollywood’s celebrities of the time. Classic adobe, with red tile roofs, white stucco walls, and original wood doors, the original Casitas were built in the style of the La Quinta Hotel, and are still much in demand.

The Citrus Golf Club in La Quinta offers location and Views!
La Quinta Neighborhood of the week: The Citrus Golf Club. People are back in force. Our winter residents are returning to our beautiful desert for the winter months. Holidays are just around the corner, Listings are becoming more plentiful, and the over seeding of our Golf Courses and Polo Fields is raging! If you have been thinking of buying on a Golf Course in La Quinta, be sure to check out The Citrus Golf Club.
Buying on a Golf Course can sometimes mean you HAVE to purchase a membership. You don’t at The Citrus. The Citrus Golf Club has it’s own private Pete Dye course, and a recently remodeled clubhouse with fitness center, but The Citrus is also part of the La Quinta Hotel Club & Spa. That means that it is possible to use the amenities at the La Quinta Spa, and play the public courses. One of the things I hear often from buyers that I show The Citrus Golf Club to is, “The HOA’s are so reasonable!” The monthly Homeowners association is only $335/month. Very reasonable for a Golf Course development in La Quinta.

Vegetarian dining option? Haven’t tried them!
Vegetarian Dining in the desert, means you have to be a little creative. There aren’t that many hard core Vegetarian restaurants and dining options available, especially in our East Cities of La Quinta and Indio. There are several strictly Veggie places in Palm Springs and Palm Desert however. Luscious Lorraines which is inside Harvest Health Foods in Palm Desert. The incredibly popular Native Foods in Palm Springs. Do not dispair locals in the East Valley. The great news is that nearly every restaurant you go to at this point offers variations, or their chef’s are open to “vegetarian changes” that you may request. Why not? It probably saves them money, substituting Tofu, or Soy/vegetable products for meat.
